High school juniors interested in a career in nursing or allied healthcare professions (things like physical therapist assistant, sonographer, respiratory therapist, etc. You get the gist.)
Still trying to figure out what college is right for you? At Just Juniors Day, you’ll learn a little more about NMC, which probably isn’t like most other colleges you’ve toured up to this point.
True, we offer four-year degrees and have many of the amenities of the standard college experience, but there’s a number of ways we go above and beyond to help you out.
Why Nebraska Methodist College:
- Embark On Your Career Faster
Our Bachelor of Science in Nursing and assorted Allied Health Professions Bachelor’s degrees are typical four-year programs like you might expect, but what differentiates NMC from other institutions is the number of Associate’s Degrees and Certificate Programs available in some of the most high-demand healthcare fields out there. Can’t wait to get started in your professional life? Maybe a two-year program would be a better fit, or even a certificate course that can be completed in a matter of weeks or months. It’s up to you.
- Hands-on Experience
At Nebraska Methodist College, we believe it’s important for you to learn by doing. Not only do students start clinicals in just their second semester at the college (meaning you’ll be working with actual human beings in a matter of months), but we offer a number of state-of-the-art simulations that allow you to experience firsthand what it’s like to, for instance, deliver a baby or perform a tracheotomy. (and yes, at Just Juniors day, you’ll be able to tour the facilities housing these simulations)
- Student-to-Faculty Ratio
Small class sizes mean you’ll actually get to know your professors. There are some lecture courses, but even these are relatively small in size compared to a larger university. For the most part, you’ll be working with your instructors rather than merely listening to them. Our faculty has real-world experience that transitions into exceptional study opportunities for you, the student.
- Apartment-Style Housing
Most colleges force incoming freshmen to live in the standard dormitory. You know the type: a tiny room, a bed, some desk space, and maybe room for a single futon to be shared between you and your roommate. Not so at NMC. From the very start, our students have the option to live in Josie’s Village, an apartment-style housing community adjacent to campus. All apartments are fully-furnished, cost-friendly, and literally a minute’s walk from class.
Think this sounds like a good fit for you? If so, or even if you’re still on the fence, come to Just Juniors Day to find out more. Here’s just some of what you can expect:
- Tour of campus, including labs, simulations, cadaver lab, housing facilities, bookstore, cafeteria, and more.
- Free meal and access to Deja Brew restaurant and coffee shop
- Speak with faculty to learn more about program options
- Speak with financial aid and admissions teams to find out more about the application process
- The afternoon off school (maybe we should’ve led with that)
